San Lorenzo Area
Sa Caleta, Ibiza, Balearics, Spain
Sa Caleta is located on the south coast of the island about 4 kms from Cala Jondal. Here you will find the ruined remains of the first Phoenician settlement in Ibiza, established around 650BC on a low promontory beside a tiny natural harbour. Although the foundations are now all fenced the site is a peaceful retreat with dazzling views across to Playa Es Codolar and Cap des Falco. To the west of the site a path leads to the beaches, which consist of three tiny bays. The first bay is 100 metre strip of golden sand and is popular with Ibizan families at weekends. A good priced restaurant is also located here.
